The Anki Dilemma, Part II

Good news: I've been keeping up with my daily Anki reps (more or less lol)

Bad news: I haven't made a single new card

It's quite ironic seeing that this is the exact opposite of what I was worried about previously which was that I'd enjoy making cards but would hating repping them.

What I did guess correctly though, was that making the cards would be a real hassle if I read anything other than manga online. Which is exactly what has been happening lol. Although I haven't been reading much physicals - I did read a bit of ルルドラゴン and あやしもん - I've been reading quite a bit of manga on my kindle1. The experience of searching up words isn't horrible2 but it's definitely not a one click solution like yomichan and mokuro.

Anki will probably be an easy thing for me to continue for the time being seeing that I only have 10ish words to review everyday but it isn't really solving the problem of how do I keep track of the words I'm searching up and reviewing them. Maybe it's time to go back to writing the words down manually....

  1. Really it's only been One Piece lol. Also I returned my kindle colorsoft which I mentioned here. Post for another day

  2. You can simply click on the search button and then type up your word and search in the dictionary. It's not a very quick process and you have to know the readings of the word so it's most effective with manga that have furigana. Also since it's a manga and you're searching up the words rather than clicking on it, the words you search up won't show up in the vocabulary builder so you won't be able to export them
